Training Institutions
The workforce gap is the deepest constraint on African healthcare. We build the schools that close it.
NFAHS pairs each flagship hospital with a co-located training institution. This pairing is intentional — and central to why the model can scale.
What we build
- Schools of medicine offering MD or MBBS degrees
- Schools of nursing and midwifery
- Allied-health programs (radiography, laboratory science, biomedical engineering)
- Postgraduate residency and fellowship programs
- Continuing professional development for working clinicians
Why pair training with hospitals
- Clinical immersion — students train where care is delivered
- Faculty depth — practising clinicians teach and supervise
- Retention — graduates have employment pathways at hand
- Research — institutions become centres of African-led inquiry
Scholarships & access
A meaningful share of seats will be reserved for scholarship students — particularly women, students from rural and under-served districts, and applicants from neighbouring countries with acute workforce shortages.
Join us in building Africa's healthcare future.
Whether you contribute $100 or $1 million — every pledge brings the first hospital closer to opening its doors.
